Stratospheric flight SP6ZWR & WroSpace "Bory 2023"
On August 19, 2023, on the occasion of the SP6ZWR Emergency Communications Club members meeting – “Bory 2023” in the Lower Silesian Forest, a stratospheric flight took place. The mission aim was to lift the sculpture created by Mariusz Potyszka as well as to test the SSTV transmitter built jointly by “Łukasz Pieczonka LPI Consulting” and SP6ZW.
The maximum flight altitude exceeded 39.6 km. During the flight, the SSTV transmitter has been continuously taking photos of the surrounding environment and transmitted them at the frequency of 144,500 MHz. The signal was received in majority of Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic.
The film shows the moment of take-off, the apogee of the flight, including details of the bursting of the balloon’s envelope, as well as the return flight and landing.
The flight was organized jointly by SP6ZWR, WroSpace, Mariusz Potyszka and Łukasz Pieczonka LPI Consulting.
Note
The original soundtrack was deliberately not replaced with any music, to point out the flight conditions and physical phenomena during the flight.
